AUGURE

Omen (also known as Augure) is an ensemble film about four people accused of being witches and sorcerers. Despite their misfortune they find the way to guide each other away from their socially imposed destinies and into the phantasmagoria of Africa.

STORY OF NEKUKO

In The Story of Ne Kuko, the voice of an ancestor brings the nkisi's past to life. He describes how the land of Boma, ruled by nine chiefs until the 19th century, changed radically in a short time with the arrival of the first Europeans. The film shows the mission of present-day restitution activist Mwazulu Diyabanza to get African objects held in European museums returned to their homeland. He believes that change should not have to wait any longer and hopes his actions will spark discussion on the restitution of colonial heritage. Ne Kuko's story takes Mwazulu to highlands of Boma. The true meaning of Ne Kuko's statue unfolds.

Three young teenage girls on holiday in the South of France. Three longings for love in various forms – digital, in real life, or not yet existing. This feature debut by Natalie Bruijns and Anneke de Lind van Wijngaarden explores how desires can clash with reality.

BURNING DAYS

Emre, a young prosecutor newly appointed to the small town of Yaniklar, finds himself being pulled into a political conflict during his first criminal investigation.

SILVER HAZE

The story centres around 23-year-old Franky (Vicky Knight, Dirty God) who leads a life dedicated to caregiving, juggling her duties as a nurse while being the backbone of her tumultuous family in east London. Internally, Franky harbours deep-seated anger stemming from a traumatic childhood fire that left her scarred. However, her life takes a transformative turn when she embarks on a relationship with one of her patients, Florence (Esmé Creed-Miles, Hanna). The two embark on a journey to Florence’s coastal hometown, where an open-minded and supportive patchwork family welcomes them. In this new environment, Franky finds the emotional sanctuary she desperately needs to confront the demons of her past.

OCCUPIED CITY

The past collides with the present in this excavation of the Nazi occupation of Amsterdam: a journey from World War II to recent years of pandemic and protest and a provocative, life-affirming reflection on memory, time and what's to come.
